College football wagering odds in 2015 will include a competition between Texas and Notre Dame. The two high profile squads will be playing a four-game series starting in 2015 that should attract plenty of competition against the NCAA football lines.



The first competition between these marquee squads will be at South Bend on September 5th, 2015. The following season on September third, the squads will meet in Austin. They will take a break before the final two games of the series. They’ll compete in Austin on August 31st in 2019 as well as in South Bend on September 12th, 2020.

Both head coaches were pretty fired up about the new series. New Irish coach Brian Kelly was pretty happy while Texas coach Mack Brown is also delighted with the opportunity for Texas to play Notre Dame. Texas proceeds into the 2010 at No. two in college football history with 845 wins. Notre Dame is right behind them with 837 all-time wins.

Texas and Notre Dame have met ten times in the past with Notre Dame taking eight of the ten. They haven’t met since 1996 at Austin. Ever since the Cotton Bowl in 1970 when the Longhorns won a national title, Texas has not won a competition versus Notre Dame.

Texas is considered a national title contender this season in college football picks while Notre Dame is a longshot. Notre Dame is 40-1 to win the national tournament this season while Texas is 12-1. The Longhorns must replace quarterback Colt McCoy but they have plenty of expertise on both sides of the ball. Notre Dame aren’t considered on the same level as some of the leading squads in the country though the team has a new head coach in Brian Kelly. With only 4 road games all season, Notre Dame does have a fairly effortless schedule. Texas has the tougher job as they have to play Oklahoma as a piece of their Big 12 schedule and they also have got to travel to Nebraska.

Perhaps the Fighting Irish will be national title contenders again by the time Notre Dame and Texas meet in 2015. The Longhorns are in the hunt every season but Notre Dame still has some work to do to get up to the leading level of NCAA football.
